Regain 2.0.4 Desktop - "No index present"

Postby cgmac » Sun Jul 07, 2013 12:18 pm

I am working in Windows 7.
I installed Regain last week to search inside my pdfs and I found several problems.
Initially I set up a Directory and made a search. That was fine, but at next day the program failed to changed the directory. Then I run the software as an administrator which allowed me to change the directory, but now the search is still pointing out the previous directory. Then I installed the pluging locallink on my firefox, but it didn't make any difference. I reinstalled again Regain with administrator rights and in D:, set up the directory successfully and now the software says "No index present". Could you please give me some advice? (I am not familiar with programming)
Thank you.

You have to start the Regain service as an Admin. (Right click/run as administrator) If you get that error again, just go to the search page and do a search. I get that error after a restart of my PC and a fresh Run as Admin, but doing what I just said always works.

Regain needs write permissions on the log and index folder.

This workes for me on win7.

Best regards.
