I would guess that the search mask has no reading priviliges for the index.

Please ensure that your servlet engine (i.e. tomcat) has priviliges for reading and writing for the whole index directory.

did not work...i have set full permission to all users for the index directory..but still it is showing the same error....moreover even if i do not provide any index directory..it gives the same error....pls help!
